With the best view of the Elbphilharmonie, harbor and St. Michaelis, around 100 design colleagues met up yesterday and talked shop about their personal design/things.
Since the rooms of designxport in HafenCity have been underwater, the DESIGN/DINGS/TAG has been meandering around the city. Yesterday the Hamburg design colleagues met at MUTABOR. Five creative people presented their personal “Design/Ding”: An object, a something, a thing that inspires, annoys or irritates them. Host Heinrich Paravicini raved about Lotus Esprit S1, Martin Oberhäuser from Büro Oberhäuser presented the Tracking App Strava. Anna Wawrzyniak from the lighting design office Andres brought along a scraper and her memory of a fascinating visit to James Turrels Skyspace in Ytterjärna. Ernst Rosenmüller from DRID – Kommunikation und Design had a bicycle saddle by Ergon and a landscape by Quirin Leppert with him. That Achim Schnell from RODENBORG.RETHINK.PAPER could use his own book stool creation from Bookniture was more than practical, because MUTABOR’s Auditorium was jammed packed, standing room only.
